L.'s new chair

Konečně, viděli jsme perfectní židli, a v Pondělí, pokoj uvítal novou-starou židli.

The hallway

A week without internet has meant: a) no blog posts and b) much more time and energy for painting.

The hallway is now mostly L.'s much beloved Sash Red, with only minor touch-ups necessary.

The ceiling, after no less than five coats of paint, has finally decided to stay white.

The wood panelling will eventually be a slightly green/cream (something like this). We found the perfect colour to match the Sash Red, but, unfortunately, B&Q were out of it. So, we improvised. And bought a whole litre of something similar. Only, a bit too green. And florescent.

(Hard to tell in the photos, but it does glow in natural light).
Not exactly what we wanted for the hallway, but I have great hopes for it in the lean-to.

And finally, in exasperation, I turned the twice-wallpapered, thrice-painted wall over to L., who has made incredible progress.

Happy new year! Now, get to work!

After a lovely Christmas and new year, we are back in the lovely wee house. We've started on the hallway, though, sadly, there are still two layers of wallpaper (the top of which has been painted--twice!) in some spots. And the going, as you can see, is slow and very sad:

In other news, we picked up L.'s desk tonight, in the pouring rain. Would you believe this massive beauty fit in our little car? We were in shock. Very pleased shock, mind.

It quite dwarfs my beloved desk (ebay find, ages ago). Also, please note the alcohol on L.'s desk versus important-looking papers on mine. I'm just saying....
