With no house to paint, no garden to tend, L. and I are having to amuse ourselves in other ways during our grand American adventure. So far, our tailbones are a little sore from all the driving, our legs are sore from the hiking, and L.'s shoulder is a little sore from the motorbiking (more on that later). But we're having a grand time and embarrassing all the natives with our loud and rapid photo-taking.

We've been in the car for about 13 hours in the three days that we've been here. Fortunately, the views are amazing:
